Job Description:

The Rural Municipality of St Andrews is seeking applications from talented and qualified candidates for the position of Public Works Superintendent.

Reporting to the Manager of Public Works, this position is responsible for the day-to-day work assignments for personnel within the Department including the daily on-site supervision of personnel and the maintenance of operational safety standards. This includes actively managing service tracker requests, staff duties, health and safety matters, PW equipment, RM buildings and the overall deliver of PW services.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum high school diploma, and shall have sufficient experience in transportation, public works and/or utility services including equipment operation.  Supervisory experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, using GPS equipment and mapping software is an asset. Other key attributes of the successful candidate will include showing initiative, high degree of independent judgement, ability to multi-task, effective time management and communication skills.

This is a full-time (45 hours/week) hybrid office/field based position plus overtime as required.  The position salary is $80,000 per annum and offers a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan after a 6-month probation period.
