The City of Selkirk is currently in search of a Project Manager to join our team.
Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Project Manager shall oversee and achieve all aspects of specific corporate projects to ensure that scope, quality, schedule, budget resources and risks are managed during each project phase (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing). Lead the development of formal project management to ensure a consistent project management approach is applied throughout the City.
The incumbent will work with the Chief Administrative Officer to manage and maintain the Corporate Strategic and Tactical Planning Program.

1. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Minimum qualifications shall include:
• Successful completion of a post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Business or Public Administration, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading projects or other change management initiatives.
• Experience in strategic planning and risk management.
• Competence with computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio, email & internet, and the ability to quickly learn new technology as required.
• Good facilitation and analytical skills.
• Ability to positively influence people at all levels.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
• Adept at conducting research into project management related issues and products.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Desired qualifications:
• Process Improvement Methodologies (i.e. LEAN, LEAN Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc.)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• PROSCI Certification
• Business Process Redesign or Reengineering
• Certificate in Manitoba Municipal Administration (CMMA)
