With the assistance of HMC Management Inc., the Resort Village of Candle Lake, Saskatchewan is seeking the services of an experienced Manager of Planning and Development (MPD) to oversee and lead the planning and development services function of their organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the incumbent shall have previous urban land use planning related experience, preferably at the municipal level, combined with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a field related to regional and urban planning along with membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License. A combination of other education and experience may also be considered.

The incumbent is expected to have strong analytical, problem solving and customer service skills in addition to having the ability to audit all permit applications for accuracy, compliance with legislation, policies, procedures and restrictions, and ensuring all applications comply with development plans, zoning by-laws and the Municipal and the Planning Acts.

Salary range for this position is $69,062 to $81,250. The Resort Village has an extensive benefits package as well. Council expects that the MPD would be willing to reside in, or close to the municipality, and be visible within the community.
