Job Description:

Named for the river that flows through it, the Municipality of Pembina is located in southern Manitoba with a population of over 2,000. Rich in natural landscapes, scenic communities and a multitude of all seasonal activites and events, the Municipality of Pembina is seeking their next Chief Administrative Officer.

Reporting to Council, the CAO is responsible for leading a team and directing all the administrative and operational initiatives of the municipality.

This leadership position is a great opportunity for the individual who enjoys leading a service focused team while also enjoying being hands-on, working with stakeholders and connecting directly with the community.

Position Overview:

  • Collaborate with Council to set strategic direction and execute administrative affairs for the municipality and in meeting the municipality’s mission and vision.
  • Develop and implement operational plans and ensure the coordination of services aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Provide strong people leadership in ensuring fiscal health and responsible management.
  • Build connections, partnerships, and relationships with a variety of stakeholders, community and constituents.
  • Work with the leadership team and council and set and recommend operation and capital budgets.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

  • CMMA certification (Manitoba Municipal Admimnistrators).
  • A professional that understands munnicipal structures and has hands on experience working in a municipal administration.
  • A leader who is service oriented and relationship focused.
  • An engaged listener who possesses strong communication skills with a high level of financial, business andoperational acumen.
