Position Summary

 

The RM of Gimli is inviting applications to join our Senior Management Team as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO).

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this key management position is responsible for a wide variety of administrative, legislative functions and supervision of staff and contracted services including By Law officer, Fire Chief , Emergency Measures Officer, Animal Control Officers supporting the RM of Gimli in providing effective and efficient support to the constituents of the RM.

Working closely with the other members of the Senior Management Team the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer will plan, direct and management programs and services as directed by the Chief Administrative Officer.  The ACAO will support the CAO related to preparing for Council Meetings and ensuring the appropriate actions are taken following Council meetings. The ACAO will support RM strategic and operational planning and will function as the CAO in their absence.

Qualifications:

–  Possess a CMMA designation and/or other relevant post-secondary education such as Public or Business Administration, Human Resource Management

–  A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Municipal Management

– Experience working with Collective Agreements, and some experience with collective bargaining would be an asset.

–  Experience with Policy development and implementation.

–  Experience with Development Agreements

– In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, and knowledge of and experience with building and maintaining strong municipal governance.

– Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with experience in managing a wide variety of situations with the public and staff and preparing a wide variety of documents and reports.

–  Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

–  Ability to work extended hours as required.

 

This is a full-time management position.  The RM provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
