Job Description
Located in southwest Manitoba, Cornwallis Municipality surrounds the city of Brandon and is home to approximately 4500 people all located throughout a combination of several densely populated areas in the north, as well as scattered agricultural settlements to the south.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Administrative Assistant contributes to a smooth and effective Municipal operation, providing services in confidential office administration, reception, clerical and financial support services.
Qualifications/Duties/Responsibilities
• Administrative Assistant Certificate
• A strong secretarial skill set, including word processing, photocopying, data input,
reception, faxing, emailing, customer service skills, and verified keyboarding of 60
wpm
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set
priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Moderate reading, writing and mathematical skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information in the workplace
• The ability to work independently and cooperatively as an effective member of a
team
• Provide front end customer support, receive payments, answer questions, direct
inquiries, process mail, filing, handling communications with clients & vendors
• Prepare and maintain mailing lists and form and letter templates
• Maintain office supply inventory and order replenishment as required
• Answering and directing phone calls
• Other duties as assigned
Preference given to those with:
Municipal accounting knowledge background
The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal record check.
