As recreational Cannabis is legal across Canada, municipal leaders are responding to the challenges and opportunities ahead. Our communities are where cannabis will be consumed and sold, and municipalities need to be not only closely consulted throughout the process, but we also need to achieve a fair revenue-sharing model that recognizes rising costs.

The AMM recently commissioned a Probe Research poll asking how much, if any, of the revenue from marijuana should be earmarked for municipalities. The majority of Manitobans indicated strong support for sharing of revenue from the sale of marijuana with municipalities.
