These two units should be turned into cash for usable public works equipment. The one on the left
is a generator/light system, the one on the right is a generator compressor.
• This compressor was used to power air tools (pneumatic) that allowed workers to complete
projects out on sites that did not have access to hydro. This is old technology that has been
replaced by less expensive and readily available engine powered or battery-operated tools.
• The lighting system has no practical use for public works and has not been used in many
years.
This is an old chassis from an older flush that has since been replaced with a new unit with higher
capacity. Metal salvage only.
1990 GMC 3 Tonne Dump – Taken off Road summer of 2021 due to PTO
malfunctioning and throttle body not working. Transmission – No top end gears
working, only the first low 4 gears work. The Brakes, PTO pump, and lift mechanism not
working. Hydraulic booster that sends signals to the Steering and Breaks not working.
For example, the steering and brakes will only fully engage at high RPMs (7000 to 9000
RPM). The mechanism itself is broken; not a leaking cylinder or anything simple. One
section of the back box needs repaired by welding.
Overall, this vehicle is expensive to run due to gas engine, and with the capacity too small
to be cost effective, this is not a vehicle that fits the Town’s efficiency model. Not worth
fixing.
This particular unit was modified and used in lieu of Magikist technology, this
machine was used to heat up the copper to thaw frozen water lines by charging
the water lines with an electrical current as a closed electrical circuit. The affect
would be the heating up of the copper pipe underground and melting the ice.
Not legal to use now, and workers noted that even though the intent was to
create a closed circuit, TVs in town would produce static and since the pipes
are all connected underground, the risk of electrical shock anywhere along the
line was a hazzard. Cables are all damaged, totally obsolete and unsafe
technology. Not worth fixing or keeping for parts.
Motor totally seized. When this unit was working, it moved large
bodies of water. Has not beens used in 20 years minimum. Hoses
and electrical compromised and rotted.
Story is that the Town bought this Dozer from the mine for $1.
Lloyd Thompson rebuilt the Diesel engine; Town used it for about 10 to 15 years, mostly at
the old Dump doing the work that the Packer now does. Hasn’t been used in years. Brakes
are cable activated. No plated floor. No heat in it; plywood seating. No longer a completely
enclosed cab. Not worth keeping for parts or repairs.
Large Pumper Truck
* Been sitting in Town yard for 25 + years.
* Will not pass a basic MVI safety.
* All the Drive-Train probably compromized.
* Not worth keeping for parts or repairs.
* Multiple engines would need extensive
repair and maintenance and this unit is no
longer a practical solution for the Town.
