Economic Development Council for Manitoba's Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM) has been encouraging, stimulating and organizing economic development in bilingual municipalities since January 1996.

Green Manitoba

Green Manitoba is delivering programs to foster environmental innovation and community development. This includes community-based approaches to promote waste reduction and the efficient use of water and energy, and focusing in the immediate term on several waste minimization priorities: tires, packaging and printed materials, household hazardous waste, electronic-waste, and paint.

Institute of Urban Studies (University of Winnipeg)
The University of Winnipeg's Institute of Urban Studies (IUS) is both an educational and an applied research centre. The Institute is committed to examining urban development issues in a broad, non-partisan context and has never lost sight of the demands of applied research aimed at practical, often novel, solutions to urban problems.

Keystone Agricultural Producers
Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) is Manitoba's general farm policy organization, consisting of Manitoba farmers and commodity groups. They represent and promote the interests of agriculture and agricultural producers in Manitoba.

Manitoba Good Roads Association (MGRA)
The Manitoba Good Roads Association (MGRA) was formed in 1909 to promote the development of roads in the Province of Manitoba. True to the founders’ aim of promoting better roads in Manitoba, the organization presents awards to recognize achievement in road construction and maintenance, as well as awards for community and individual home grounds beautification. MGRA also provides an educational program for municipal maintenance personnel.

Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA)
Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA) is a non-profit organization advocating the positive relationship between sustainable investment in infrastructure and quality of life, the economy and the environment. The Association promotes a safe workplace for industry employees, by providing an integrated Safety, Health and Environment Program (SHEP).

Manitoba Library Trustee Association
The Manitoba Library Association (MLA) is a provincial, voluntary, non-incorporated association with personal and institutional members. The Association provides leadership in the promotion, development and support of library and information services in Manitoba for the benefit of Association members, the library community and the citizens of Manitoba.

Manitoba Recreational Trails Association
The Manitoba Recreational Trail Association (MRTA) is a registered non-profit charitable provincial association which exists to assist local trail associations with trail development and related issues in Manitoba. The MRTA is responsible for the development of the Trans Canada Trail in our province.

Manitoba School Boards Association
The Manitoba School Boards Association is a voluntary organization of public school boards in Manitoba. Its purpose is to ensure quality public school education for Manitoba students through effective, locally-elected boards of trustees.

Manitoba Weed Supervisors Association
The Manitoba Weed Supervisors Association is comprised of and represents Weed Supervisors who are individually employed by Weed Control Boards formed within their respective Weed Control Districts.

Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba
Under this program, effective April 1, 2010, companies that manufacture and market packaging and printed paper will take responsibility for and significantly share in the cost of recovering printed paper and packaging from Manitoba residences.

Muniscope

Rural Development Institute (Brandon University)
Brandon University's Rural Development Institute, as a centre for excellence in rural development, helps strengthen rural communities both in Canada and internationally through research and information on issues unique to rural areas.

Tire Stewardship Manitoba
TSM is a not-for-profit agency created to support tire retailers with a scrap tire management program that was developed with input from industry, environmental groups, municipalities, government and other stakeholders and approved by the Minister of Conservation.
