Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Public Works & Utilities Manager is responsible for the management and administration of all activities, staff, vehicles, equipment and other resources required for the operation, care and maintenance of roads, facilities, buildings and municipal utilities.
The Manager will oversee the operations of the Public Works Operators, Laborers, Summer Students as well as the Utility Plant Operators. In addition, the Manager will play a key roll in the long term planning and budgeting of capital projects as well as implementing and maintaining Workplace Health & Safety procedures. The successful applicant will hold or be willing to obtain their Class II Water & Wastewater Certification and have a minimum 5 years’ experience working in a public works environment or equivalent experience. Strong leadership with excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits package upon completion of a probationary period.
