The Town of Altona is seeking an individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to join the Altona Police Service.
Altona is a clean, safe, vibrant community of 4,200 and is located in Manitoba’s picturesque Pembina Valley. This progressive community boasts a number of outstanding businesses and amenities, and as well, has a multitude of artistic cultural facilities as well as indoor and outdoor recreational activities. The Police Service provides policing services to the Town of Altona and the LUD of Plum Coulee.
Reporting to the Chief of Police, Police Constables are responsible for general patrol duties, traffic enforcement, and enforcement of all Municipal By-laws, Provincial Statutes, and Federal Statutes.
Preference may be given to a candidate with previous experience with a Canadian Police Agency. While a post-secondary education in Police Sciences is desirable, related experience will also be considered.
Required qualifications include:
– Minimum 18 yrs of age
– Legally able to work in Canada
– No previous Criminal Convictions.
– Clean driving record
– Basic first aid and CPR
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong moral character.
