The RM of West St Paul is looking for a new member of its executive team to lead the organization into the next generation of high growth. Under direction of the CAO, the Municipal Legislative will provide professional leadership and direction for all legal and general support for the municipality. The Municipal Legislative officer will ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring that all decisions and actions comply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. This position manages issues and acts as a liaison between the Chief Administrative Officer, Council members, other government departments, and the general public.
Your qualifications will include strong written communication skills with experience proofreading and editing complex documents including legal and council documents. You will possess extensive experience with scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments and making travel arrangements. You will possess exceptional political acumen skills and have experience working with highly sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner. Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines are a must. You will have the ability to provide direction and coordinate work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Your qualifications will also include completion of the four year Manitoba Municipal Administrators Association certificate program and you will have seven years’ experience in municipal administration. Your experience or education should reflect responsibility for human resources as well as experience processing and analyzing documents and applications with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
