The EDO is the primary contact for economic development and as such is the catalyst for business development and economic diversification. The EDO is as advocate for business and investment and does this by providing solutions to barriers and will act as a liaison between Municipal departments, the business community, and government agencies and act as a facilitator to develop strategic partnerships and initiatives.
The applicant must possess excellent communication and public relations skills. A degree or diploma in business, commerce, rural development or economics is preferable. Relevant work experience will also be considered. Incumbent must have knowledge of MS office applications, and have experience working with government, businesses, and volunteers, in business and community development activities.
The hours are flexible, with a guarantee of 4 days per week. Some after hours and weekend activities are to be expected.
Wage level dependent on qualifications, experience, and education.
