The Rural Municipality of Dauphin is a large agricultural community that surrounds a large urban centre that provides many business and recreation services to the Rural Municipality’s 2,388 residents.
Due to retirement, Council of the Rural Municipality of Dauphin, is seeking an individual that will bring strong leadership skills in an established team-working environment.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the administrative head of the municipality and, under the direction of the Council, oversees the implementation and delivery of programs and services to all residents and ratepayers in a manner that makes the most efficient and effective use of the human, financial and physical resources of the municipality.
This role will also be the principal advisor to Council and is responsible for ensuring that Council is informed on their legislative responsibilities and authority as well as any other relevant information necessary to make an informed decision on a municipal matter.
As the successful candidate, you have leadership experience in a municipal setting that includes an in-depth understanding and ability to interpret policies as well as the ability to effectively communicate the intent of all policies to citizens, clients and personnel.
Ideally, you will possess technical skills in municipal administration, financial management and human resource management. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are just some of the requirements of the position. Candidates who have post-secondary education in a relevant discipline bring an educational advantage to the position. Further professional development will be offered to ensure your success.
