Job Description:

The Town of Lac du Bonnet, is located 115km northeast of Winnipeg on the west shore of the Winnipeg River. Situated between the Nopiming Provincial Park to the Northeast, and Whiteshell Provincial Park to the Southeast, Lac du Bonnet is an outdoor enthusiast and nature lovers paradise.

The Council of the Town of Lac du Bonnet is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer to build and maintain strong leadership within a structured environment to lead and manage the municipality.

The Chief Administrative Officer is the administrative head of the municipality and, under the direction of Council, oversees the implementation and delivery of programs and services to all residents and ratepayers in a manner that makes the most efficient use of resources.

This role will also be the principal advisor to Council and is responsible for ensuring that Council is informed on their legislative responsibilities and authority as well as any other relevant information necessary to make an informed decision on municipal matters.

As the successful candidate, you must have leadership experience in a municipal setting that includes an in-depth understanding and ability to interpret legislation and policies as well as the ability to effectively communicate the intent of all policies to Council, residents and staff.

The Town of Lac du Bonnet works closely with their rural neighbours, so the ability to work well and foster strong working relationships is a crucial skill.

Key qualifications of this position include:

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAO;

CMMA Designation;

Highly knowledgeable in:  municipal administration and finance, the Planning Act, interpersonal and relationship building skills, analytical research, problem solving;

Ability to initiate, sponsor and implement organizational change and policy; and

Able to work cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions.
