Registration Policies
Pre-registration is required. Registrations made online or by fax, unless cancelled, will be considered a commitment to attend. Walk-ins will be welcomed!

No-shows will be billed, as meeting and catering arrangements will have been made for all registrants.
Cancellation Policies
AMM requires a cancellation notice in writing, TEN (10) business days before the workshop, either by fax or email.

If you have registered and find that you unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please notify AMM of this occurrence.

In the event that registrations for workshops are below the minimum quota required to cover costs they may be cancelled by the AMM.

If AMM cancels a workshop, registrants will receive notice a minimum of one week before the schedule workshop.

The AMM reserves the right to cancel the workshop and reschedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
General Information
Registration fee will include: workshop materials, refreshments and in the case of a full day meeting, lunch.

AMM will invoice your municipality for the registered number of individuals following the workshop.

AMM 2012 Education Program
The AMM Education Program is a four-year series of workshops designed specifically for Manitoba municipal officials that will provide the training and tools necessary for effective and ethical leadership.
These workshops are highly interactive, affordable and capacity building. The one and half-day workshops are designed to make the most of your invested time as they broaden your knowledge and improve your skills so you can effectively achieve the goals of your community.
Participants who successfully complete 75% of the Program’s workshops will receive the distinguished designation of Certified Municipal Official (CMO) and receive certificate in recognition of their status.

Understanding Public Engagement – A Refresher

This session will highlight the benefits of public engagement, ensuring those participants new to public engagement will gain an understanding of the fundamentals, while more experienced practitioners will receive new perspectives and engagement methodologies. The session will cover different tools and techniques for consultation, when to use them, and the pros, cons and implications of each – particularly in terms of resources and time. Participants will learn how to use public input to define success for the engagement process, and in the process, address the all too common refrain “I wasn’t consulted!”

Conflict is a natural occurring part of all working relationships. But how much time is wasted because people don’t quickly and effectively deal with conflict situations? When effectively managed and understood, conflict actually contributes to the bottom line.
