AMM announces VIRTUAL June District Meetings for 2020
The health and safety of our members and staff is paramount to the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM). Given the rapidly evolving situation regarding COVID-19, please be advised that the AMM Board of Directors have decided to hold the 2020 June District Meetings virtually in order to comply with Manitoba’s public health orders regarding gatherings.
While these meetings will be condensed, this year’s agenda will include reports and presentations from the AMM and invited speakers along with the recognition of those receiving Service Awards. Please note that for 2020, Service Award recipients will be recognized during their District’s virtual meeting and pins will be sent to their municipal office for presentation.
RESOLUTIONS – Please be advised that there will be no resolutions debated during the 2020 June District Meetings. Instead, the AMM has extended the deadline for submitting resolutions to August 1, 2020 to the AMM office. In the fall, all resolutions will be reviewed by the Resolutions Committee and only Category 1 resolutions will proceed to the annual AMM Convention for debate. As always, if your municipality is facing any issue, your Council is encouraged to submit an official letter addressed to the AMM Board of Directors outlining your concerns. This option may potentially result in your municipal issue being resolved prior to the annual Convention.
REGISTRATION – Members are invited to register individually for their District’s meeting which will take place via Zoom. On each of the links to the right, please review your District’s draft agenda, 2019 meeting minutes, service pin criteria and link to the online application for service pins and link to register.
If you are unable to attend the meeting for your district, you are welcome to attend a meeting of another district.
